Marvel Stadium, for many years known as Etihad Stadium until that sponsorship deal expired, was Melbourne's first purpose-built mega-sized entertainment venue and stadium built in the city since the MCG on the same scale, primarily being used for AFL matches and houses the AFL headquarters with a maximum capacity of over 56,000.

Conveniently situated at the Western edge of the city on the border of Docklands, it is also used for cricket, rugby and soccer matches as well as concerts, where only the biggest of the big names can play to its enormous capacity.

Past legends who have had this honour are Green Day, U2, Foo Fighters, Eminem, Metallica, George Michael and AC/DC.
