Margaret Court Arena was built as part of the new National Tennis Centre in 1987 as part of what we now know as Melbourne Park, initially named Show Court One, it became Margaret Court Arena in 2003 in tribute to the Australian tennis great.

It was redeveloped in 2010 to more regularly feature Australian Open tennis matches and also as a smaller scale concert venue along with nearby Melbourne Arena, which until recently was known as Hisense Arena.

Margaret Court Arena has hosted the likes of B 52's, Simple Minds, Village People and Human Nature in that time.
