The Corner Hotel is an iconic Melbourne pub and live music venue that has a history dating all the way back to 1871, when it was built as a pub that first began presenting live music in the 1940's with jazz. The original building was demolished in 1966 and the current building that stands there today was built in its place.
It commenced its current incarnation as a live music venue in 1983, hosting a range of Australian legends during the 80's such as Big Big, Spy vs Spy, Johnny Diesel and Baby Animals.
Mick Jagger and Pink Floyd's David Gilmour have played there and since then so have a host of indie and alternative royalty such as Ash, Pavement, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, New Order's Peter Hook, the Black rebel Motorcycle Club as well as Crowded House.
